1st PROMISE Stakeholder event in Dublin

PROMISE 1st Stakeholder Event will be held on 20th of November 2013 in Dublin, Ireland. The focus of this event will be on food safety issues due to pathogenic organisms, in particular Listeria monocytogenes.

121 experts visited 2nd FOODSEG Symposium in Bucharest.

121 experts from different fields along the food chain were attending the symposium. The agenda was comprehensive:
The latest outcomes of the acitivities of the FOODSEG expert groups were presented and a specific workshop on “mycotoxins” was held.
To young researchers of the Foodseg exchange program was offered the possibility of attending a special training workshop and to join the experienced experts in discussions.

Successful opening of Mission Possible Exhibition

The Mission Possible Exhibition with the main title “Will bio-economy save the world?” has been successfully opened in Rome, Italy. This exhibition has been developed within the EU Project BIOPROM which is coordinated by rtd services. The first station is at the children museum Explora and the exhibition will travel also to Aberdeen, UK, Wels, Austria and to Tallinn, Estonia during the next two years.

Euronews reports on SATIN – SATiety INnovation

‘The food saves you snacking between meals’, two volunteers stated and were surprised about the good tasting and fulfilling food. The clinical study at the Rowette Institute in Aberdeen (Scotland) delivered its first results on satiating characteristics on food types.

EU FP7 Project ECO-FCE launched in Belfast

ECO-FCE was launched with the kick-off meeting in Belfast, Northern Ireland. we are partners for dissemation in this project. Through a better understanding of the interactions between animal genetics, gut structure, function and microbiome population and the attributes of feed, ECO-FCE will propose strategies to improve the feed use efficiency of pigs and broiler chickens whilst also reducing their ecological footprint.
